Kurri Kurri Netball Facility

The project involved the delivery of a modern, multi-court netball facility at Booth Park to support the growing regional sporting community. ADW Johnson was engaged to provide critical civil engineering design and stormwater management solutions to ensure the site's long-term performance and integration with the surrounding area.

We proudly partnered with the lead consultant, Thomas and Associates Consulting, to deliver a high-quality sports facility for Cessnock City Council. As a core part of the project team, our role was to progress the initial business case and concepts into detailed design and final construction drawings. This highly collaborative process involved coordinating with the project team and actively integrating Council’s feedback across multiple review phases to ensure the final design met their requirements.

Civil & Stormwater Engineering

Our civil engineering scope laid the groundwork for the entire site, encompassing detailed bulk earthworks, site grading, and the integration of accessible pedestrian facilities, sports courts, and two carparking areas. A major focus was the development of a comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan to safely handle peak flows and protect the local environment. We designed the complete pit and pipe drainage networks, sized on-site detention facilities, and implemented effective erosion, sediment, and water quality treatment controls.

Structural Engineering

Working in collaboration with our civil team, our structural engineers provided cost-effective and highly constructable designs for the site’s essential infrastructure. This included the detailed structural documentation for necessary retaining walls, concrete pavements and stormwater pits.
