ADW Johnson Pty Ltd is proud to have played a key role in the delivery of Basin C and V6, two regional constructed wetlands servicing the St Marys Development Site within the Wianamatta Regional Park.
As lead civil consultant, ADW Johnson’s involvement spanned the full lifecycle of the project, from early concept design and development approval through to construction completion in 2025. Working closely with Lendlease, WEM Civil, planners, and Penrith City Council, we delivered a solution that achieves water quality performance, flood management, constructability, and long-term environmental outcomes.
Project highlights include:
💧 Over 3 hectares of constructed wetlands servicing an urban catchment exceeding 110 hectares
🌱 More than 200,000 plants installed across the basins
🔁 Decommissioning of four temporary basins through permanent works
🛠️ Integrated water level control structures, high-flow bypasses, weirs, and maintenance access
🦆 Wildlife refuge berms supporting a diverse range of native fauna, with sightings including waterbirds, kangaroos, goannas, and more
Projects like Basin C and V6 demonstrate how well-planned water infrastructure can deliver strong technical performance while enhancing the surrounding landscape, with their success already evident in how quickly they’ve been embraced by local ecosystems.
