A fantastic few days in the Hunter Valley for three of our planners, Brooke Sauer, Susan Blake and Erica Lacuna, attending the PIA NSW State Conference 2026.
A special shout out to Erica, who participated in a panel alongside planning professionals Rob Stokes and Steph Barker, discussing the challenges and opportunities experienced by both emerging and established planners in the workforce.
The conference was a great opportunity to connect with fellow planning professionals, share experiences and hear about the issues shaping the future of the Hunter.
A few highlights included:
🌾 Hearing firsthand from Dungog Shire Council and Cessnock City Council about balancing development with the protection of rural and agricultural land.
🏭 Learning about Singleton Council’s plans for a post-mining economy and the opportunities this transition presents for the community.
🤝 Connecting with planning professionals from across NSW and sharing ideas about the future of our industry.
With ADW Johnson Pty Ltd having strong roots across the Hunter, it was particularly meaningful for our team to be part of these conversations and contribute to discussions about the future of the region.
We’re proud of our people and the contribution they continue to make across the Hunter and beyond. 👏
