We’re thrilled to announce the official approval of the Salvation Army Norwest Community Hub redevelopment on Edwards Road, Nelson 🎉

This is a fantastic outcome for the local community, replacing the existing facility with a vibrant, modern space designed to support and bring people together for years to come 🤝✨

The approved redevelopment reflects strong community-led values, ensuring the project delivers meaningful and lasting social benefits for the Hills Shire.

At the heart of the approved design are strong community-focused principles, including:
🌱 A lush community garden supporting connection and wellbeing;
🏘️ Spaces centred on community engagement and bringing locals together;
🛝 Playful, inclusive environments, including an extensive playground for local children;
🛍️ Opportunities for a local market, supporting access to essential everyday items.

Working alongside key project consultants i2C Architects and The Salvation Army team, ADW Johnson Pty Ltd Town Planners Ben Rankmore and Adam Crampton guided the project through the planning process, providing clear and strategic planning advice and working collaboratively with The Hills Shire Council and external stakeholders 🏗️📋

A key contribution from ADWJohnson was successfully advocating for a more appropriate use of funds, negotiating with Council to prioritise enhancing the quality and functionality of the community facility over extensive civil infrastructure works 💡

Congratulations to The Salvation Army on this important milestone and on their ongoing commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces that genuinely serve local needs 👏
We were proud to work alongside them on this project, contributing our expertise to secure approval and help bring this much-needed community facility to life 🏡💛
